HopeWorks Partners with SEED to Empower 2000 Girls on Sustainability Awareness

Bangalore, 26th October 2023: HopeWorks Foundation, a leading non-profit dedicated to educating young children is thrilled to announce a strategic partnership with SEED (Sustainable Education & Environmental Development), an organisation conceived and started by high school students in the US. They are committed to improving sustainability awareness amongst elementary students through curriculum, content, and competitions by bringing a collaboration of academia, corporates and social channels. They are making this possible through AI technologies and machine learning.

Together, HopeWorks and SEED aim to make a significant impact by engaging approximately 2000+ young girls in a year-long program focused on sustainability awareness. This initiative reflects our shared vision of empowering young girls to become change-makers and champions of sustainability in their communities.

Sustainability is not just a buzzword; it’s a pressing global concern that requires collaborative efforts from organisations and individuals alike. In line with this, the partnership between HopeWorks and SEED will provide young children with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to address environmental challenges and make sustainable choices.

The program will feature a variety of educational opportunities in schools & colleges. These activities will not only raise awareness about sustainability but also encourage the girls to take an active role in preserving the environment and building a more sustainable future.

“We are excited to embark on this journey with SEED. By working together, we can inspire the next generation to become responsible stewards of our planet and ensure a brighter, more sustainable future,” said Jacintha Jayachandran, Founder, HopeWorks Foundation.

Gunit Kaur, CEO and Co-Founder, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “SEED is committed to fostering environmental consciousness in young minds. Our goal is to make sustainability a focused effort and part of the elementary education system. Teaming up with HopeWorks allows us to reach a broader audience and multiply our impact. We look forward to the incredible potential of this collaboration.”

The program was officially kicked off on October 26th, Sustainability day by keynote speakers like Neelam Manjunath, and Nimal Raghavan sharing their expertise and experience with the attendees. We invite the community, partners, and supporters to follow our journey as we create a more sustainable and hopeful future together.

The event also had young champions like Gunit Kaur, Yasmeen MS and Durga Sreenivas discuss the future of sustainability and the need for it to become a part of everyone’s life.

All the participants also pledged their commitment to sustainability.
